Guwahati, Jan 29: Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) has appointed Sunil Kanti as the new executive director and head of the Guwahati Refinery. This follows the transfer of P K Basumatary, the former chief general manager and refinery head.
Kanti, a mechanical engineering graduate from the Regional Engineering College, Rourkela, was previously serving as the executive director (Materials & Contract) at IOC’s Refineries Headquarters in New Delhi. He officially took charge of the Guwahati Refinery on Tuesday.
With over two decades of experience in the industry, Kanti joined IOC in 1994 as a mechanical engineer. Throughout his career, he has worked at several key refineries, including those in Guwahati, Barauni, Gujarat, and Digboi. He brings expertise in refinery operations, maintenance, materials management, and project commissioning, including international assignments.
