Actress Lakshmi Manchu has accused IndiGo Airlines of pestering her while she was checking her bags at the airport. Manchu shared her experience on social media, detailing how the officials were disrespectful and performed an intrusive luggage search. Lakshmi criticised the staff for not being humble and throwing unnecessary tantrums in several tweets.
She called the employees “rude” while checking her bags. She even said one of her fellow travellers had to leave her suitcase behind since the check was delayed.
According to reports, Manchu was stopped for a standard security check while travelling on a domestic flight. She claims that the airline’s ground crew was extremely forceful in their demands to check her luggage. She said despite their assurances that they would, the security guards refused to allow her to open the bag to reveal its luggage.
“My bag pulled aside and @IndiGo6E and they won’t let me open my bag,” Lakshmi Manchu wrote on X. My bag will be left in Goa if they don’t, so please assist! Flt 6e585. This is absurd, and the employees are being impolite.”

“This is harassment @IndiGo6E after all that they did not even put a security tag in front of my eyes,” she adds in a subsequent tweet. I don’t think Indigo will accept any responsibility, even though they have stated that they would if something is missing. How can an airline be operated in this manner?

Lakshmi claimed in her most recent tweet, “They pulled people aside for sleep apnea machine! And They pulled people aside for cutlery! One co-passenger had to leave her bag because it wasn’t checked in time. Cutlery with a knife and spoon! They couldn’t go through her bag in time, so one of the girls had to leave it! Alright, I’m done! @IndiGo6E enjoys inflicting violation on you.”

In response to Lakshmi Manchu’s accusations, the airline quickly responded, “Ma’am, we understand the inconvenience you experienced this morning. According to our records, the airport operator’s security personnel detained your checked-in bag because of the stringent rules against bringing forbidden items in checked bags”. Additionally, they expressed gratitude to her for working with their team and security personnel.
