Senior advocate Majeed Memon recalls an unforgettable moment involving the late Sridevi in court.

Majeed Memon recounts a fascinating anecdote about Sridevi in court, revealing how her presence drew uncontrollable crowds as the magistrate insisted on seeing the iconic actress in person.

The late Sridevi’s magnetic charm extended far beyond the silver screen, even making its way into the courtroom, as recalled by senior advocate Majeed Memon in a recent interview. Known for representing numerous Bollywood celebrities in high-profile cases, Memon shared an unforgettable incident involving the iconic actress in court. He revealed that during her peak career, a magistrate insisted on her presence simply to see her in person, leading to an uncontrollable crowd when she finally appeared. This intriguing anecdote is one of the many Bollywood stories tied to Memon’s illustrious career, which he details in his autobiography, My Memoirs.

In an interview with The Indian Express, Majeed revealed an intriguing anecdote about the late actress Sridevi that he chose not to include in his book. Without sharing specific details, he recalled how the actress was summoned to court simply because the judge wanted to see her in person.

“Once, I was appearing for Sridevi in a case. At that time, she was at the peak of her career, and people were eager to catch a glimpse of her. Even the magistrate was very keen to see her. I applied for an exemption, but it was denied. The judge insisted on her presence. When she finally came to court, the crowd was uncontrollable,” Majeed shared.

In another segment of the book, Majeed recounts his involvement in the Bharat Shah case, where Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan turned hostile witnesses. He clarified that naming these prominent stars in his book did not worry him. “I was not at all apprehensive about mentioning Salman Khan or Shah Rukh Khan. What I’ve stated is that they were falsely accused, their names used only to glamorize the case,” he said.

Speaking about his deep-rooted connection with Bollywood, Majeed shared fond memories of his younger days. “I have been closely associated with Bollywood. Mahesh Bhatt is a personal friend, and I’ve known many celebrities since my college days. I often met with icons like Dilip Kumar and Sunil Dutt at Naushad saab’s house, where we would gather every day. Those associations continued as I ventured into law.”
