Public Works Minister Satish Jarkiholi has favoured a CID inquiry into cheating and harassment of rural women by microfinance institutions.
“There have been several such cases reported across the State. The issue has also got complicated due to abetment by such companies and middlemen. I feel it is better to transfer all such cases to the Criminal Investigation Department,” he said.
He said that he will hold a meeting with officials and stakeholders at various levels in the district.
