Tamil superstar Dhanush has extended wishes to Ajith Kumar for being announced as one of the recipients of the Padma Bhushan Awards this year. On Sunday, Dhanush took to his X (formerly Twitter) handle to congratulate ‘dear’ Ajith.
“My hearty congratulations to dear Ajith Sir on being conferred the prestigious Padma Bhushan award. Also congratulating @ashwinravi99 on being the first Tamil Nadu cricketer to having being conferred a Padma Shri. My congratulations to all other Padma awardees who have made the nation proud In their respective fields,” Dhanush wrote.
Prior to Dhanush, SS Rajamouli also posted on X, “Ajith sir, congratulations on being conferred with the Padma Bhushan! The impact you’ve made both on and off the screen are truly inspiring.”
Vijay Deverakonda also sent wishes to Ajith and wrote, “Wishing my best and sending my respect and hugs to Bala sir, Ajith sir on being honoured with the Padma Bhushan award.”
Earlier today, Ajith also took to social media to pen down a special note of thanks for the big honour. “I am deeply humbled and honoured to receive the esteemed Padma Award by the President of India. I extend my heartfelt gratitude to the Hon’ble President of India, Smt. Droupadi Murmu and the Honourable Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi for this prestigious honour. It is a privilege to be recognized at such a level and I am truly grateful for this generous acknowledgement of my contributions to our nation,” a part of his post read.
“To my family and friends: Your love and support have been both a refuge and a source of strength. Thank you! I wish my late father had lived to see this day. Yet, I like to think he would be proud that his spirit and legacy live on in all that I do. I want to thank my mother for her unconditional love and the sacrifices that enabled me to become all that I could be,” he added.
