Shahid Kapoor Talks About Mira Rajput: Shahid Kapoor married Mira Rajput in 2015. Shahid Kapoor and Mira Rajput’s marriage has been a topic of admiration as the couple often talks fondly about one another publically. In a recent chat with SCREEN, Shahid opened up about Mira’s choice to prioritize their kids over her career. Shahid said that he is proud of his wife and is rooting for her success.
Shahid Kapoor said, “I think Mira has her own personality and I have mine. Definitely, she has begun to do a lot of things lately. She had made a very strong decision of first having her kids and then chasing her career. And I think that has worked in her favour.”
He added, “Now our kids are much older and she has a lot of time for herself. She is building on things and she did do what she thought she wanted to do as a mother and she dedicated her time. Now, she can slowly feel freer and do things she wants to do. I feel prouder and rooting for her.”
Expressing his admiration for his wife, Shahid said, “She has been there as a friend, partner, and support system to me and now it’s my turn so I am more than happy to be there for her in whatever way. I am very proud of her.”
Previously, on The Faye D’Souza Show, Shahid reflected on how their union shaped his life and brought him a sense of responsibility. “Arranged marriage is the best thing to happen in my life. I have the best life partner in Mira… When we got married, I thought that I would have to protect her because she is this 20-year-old girl who’s just coming from Delhi. And this is a big bad world of movies and glamour, and everybody is so judgy,” said Shahid.
However, Shahid revealed that it was Mira who turned out to be more protective of him. “She has recognised that he (Shahid) is an actor, but I am more socially comfortable. She got more comfortable in the parties that I had been attending for years… even before I got comfortable in there. I was like, she’s already more comfortable than I was,” he shared.
Shahid and Mira’s marriage was arranged by their families. While Shahid liked Mira from their very first meeting, it took Mira about six months to agree to the marriage. Despite their 13-year age difference, the couple has built a beautiful life together. Shahid and Mira welcomed their first child, Misha, in 2016, and their son, Zain, followed in 2018. The couple often shares glimpses of their family life on social media, giving fans major relationship goals with their candid posts and public appearances.
