Shahid Kapoor and Triptii Dimri will soon share screen space for the first time in Vishal Bhardwaj’s Arjun Ustara. Vikrant Massey will reportedly play the villain in the film. Nana Patekar and Randeep Hooda are also part of the project. During his Instagram Live, Shahid not only confirmed this cast but also recalled being scared of Randeep when they were students at the National School of Drama.

Shahid Kapoor said on his Instagram Live, “Randeep Hooda is also there. How can I forget? He’s my buddy from his NSD days when I also visited. I’m very excited. This is my first time working with Randeep. We’ve never worked together. Hum logo ne actually bohot saari acting workshops Naseer uncle ke saath (Naseeruddin Shah) saath main ki thi. Voh mera bohot senior tha aur main bohot darta tha usse.”

As for the film, it was earlier reported that Shahid Kapoor will be portraying a don inspired by the real-life figure Hussain Ustara in the film. The actor reportedly underwent intensive combat training to prepare for the action sequences in the film. Not much else is known about the script of the film as of now. However, the collaboration between Triptii Dimri and Shahid Kapoor promises a cinematic spectacle, set against the underworld backdrop in the post-Independence era. With an intensive shooting schedule planned, the makers aim to wrap up production soon, targeting a grand release in 2025.

Meanwhile, on the work front, Shahid Kapoor will next be seen in Deva with Pooja Hegde. In Deva, Shahid plays a rebellious cop, while Pooja portrays a journalist. The film, helmed by Rosshan Andrrews and backed by Roy Kapur Films, also features Kubbra Sait and Pavail Gulati in significant roles. Deva will be released in theatres on January 31.

As for Randeep Hooda, he will soon be seen sharing screen space with Hollywood star John Cena in the upcoming action thriller Matchbox. The film is currently being shot in Budapest. The actor will be reuniting with Extraction director Sam Hargrave with the movie, which marks their second collaboration following their 2020 Netflix hit.
