An Intermediate first year student ended his life by jumping from the third floor of his college building in Anantapur on Thursday.

The deceased, T. Charan (17), was studying MPC in the Intermediate college near Somuladoddi, on the outskirts of the city. Charan, who hails from Battalapalli mandal headquarters, came to the college as usual on Thursday morning. He took a break for a brief period and went out of the class in the first hour itself.

After returning, he attended the class. At 10.58 a.m, Charan walked out of the class, climbed the railing and jumped to the ground from the third floor. Meanwhile, Charan’s actions were caught in the CCTVs installed in the college.

Anantapur Rural police said that they are yet to ascertain the reason for Charan ending his life. A case has been registered and investigation is on. Those in distress and struggling with suicidal thoughts are urged to call 100 for counselling.
