Varun Dhawan is now in Jhansi, Uttar Pradesh for the shooting of his upcoming patriotic action film Border 2. Helmed by Anurag Singh, known for Kesari, the first leg of the shooting began a few days back. Keeping the fans updated, Varun has been posting photos from the sets of the film on Instagram. Most recently, he dropped a solo picture of himself on the photo-sharing application. In a white shirt, he is lying on the grass.
Looking at the lens, Varun Dhawan posed for the beautiful click, winning all our hearts with his charm and style. In his caption, he added an emoji depicting the sun.
Hours later, Varun Dhawan also posted a behind-the-scenes glimpse of the location wherein he is shooting. On his Instagram stories, Varun added a video that showcased fog and his vehicle moving behind an Army van. The actor wrote, “Border 2 Day 6″ along with the clip.
Border 2, set in the highly sheltered military cantonment areas of Jhansi, aims to showcase a gripping storyline packed with intense action sequences and heartfelt drama. Besides Varun Dhawan, the film also features Sunny Deol, Diljit Dosanjh and Ahan Shetty in lead roles. It will be released on the big screens on Republic Day 2026.
In August 2024, Varun Dhawan shared his excitement to be a part of Border 2 in a long post on X. He wrote, “Playing a role in Border 2, produced by J P sir and Bhushan Kumar, is a very special moment in my career. And I get to work with Sunny Paaji, which makes it even more amazing. I am excited to put a heroic Jawaan narrative to the screen in what promises to be India’s biggest war film. I seek your well wishes. Jai Hind!”
As for Varun’s other projects, he was last seen in the action thriller film Baby John. Directed by Kalees and produced by Atlee, the film failed to win hearts at the box office. Next up for the actor is the romantic drama film Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari opposite Janhvi Kapoor. Helmed by Shashank Khaitan, the film will be released later this year. Besides the lead pair, the rom-com will also star Rohit Saraf and Sanya Malhotra in the lead roles.
