Tripura Gears Up for Shreya Ghoshal’s Spectacular Performance: Free Passes Spark Excitement

AGARTALA: The grand finale of the Tripura Tourism Promo Fest, 2024, is scheduled for December 14 at Agartala’s Swami Vivekananda Maidan. Addressing a press conference at Geetanjali Tourism Guest House on Tuesday, Minister Sushanta Chowdhury announced that the event will feature a spectacular performance by India’s legendary music artist Shreya Ghoshal. “We are expecting a historic turnout,” the minister stated, emphasizing that meticulous planning has been done to ensure the success of this monumental event.

The Tripura Tourism Promo Fest 2024, a flagship event to enhance the state’s tourism potential, was inaugurated by Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha on December 3 at Narikel Kunj in Dhalai district. The festival drew an impressive crowd of over 25,000 participants. A second highlight of the event unfolded on December 9 at the iconic Neermahal in the Sepahijala district, where thousands gathered to witness the revival of the long-awaited sound-and-light show, which had been dormant for years.

Providing details about the arrangements, Chowdhury announced that three types of entry passes, distinguished by color, would be issued for the event. “Each color-coded pass corresponds to a specific entry gate to streamline crowd management. Saffron-colored passes are designated for VVIPs, while green and pink-colored passes are available for everyone,” he stated. The passes, which are free of cost, can be collected from the Directorate of Tourism near Agartala Town Hall starting December 11.

The minister also issued a strict warning against the misuse of passes. “If anyone attempts to sell these passes, the public is encouraged to report the matter immediately to the authorities and the police. Government events are meant for everyone, and no monetary exchange for passes will be tolerated,” he stressed.

A series of administrative meetings has been convened to ensure the event’s success, culminating in a review session on Tuesday. The session was attended by senior officials, including Tourism Department Secretary Uttam Kumar Chakma, DIG Range Monchak Ipper, Traffic SP Manik Das, and other key personnel.

The Tripura Tourism Promo Fest 2024 is set to be a landmark celebration, highlighting the state’s rich cultural heritage and tourism potential while redefining standards for public events.
