A total of 73 Kerala Police officers have been chosen to become Cyber Commandos, part of a specialised training programme organised by the Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Centre (I4C) under the Ministry of Home Affairs.

The officers were shortlisted through a national-level examination conducted by the National Forensic Sciences University (NFSU) from among 3,200 applicants. Kerala ranks second, with the highest number of officers selected for the six-month training programme, following Telangana, which has 172 officers.

The training will cover digital forensics, incident response and ICT infrastructure security, and will be conducted at NFSU and Indian Institutes of Technology.
