
Fourteen children studying in an elementary school near Needamangalam were treated for suspected food poisoning after they had their breakfast in their school on February 6.
Mayilvaganan, head of Narasingamangalam Panchayat Union Elementary School near Needamangalam, noticed a dead lizard in the pongal served to children on Thursday. Immediately, he stopped the children from having the same and rushed 14 children, who already had breakfast, to the Government Hospital in Needamangalam.
All the 14 children were treated at the hospital and were declared out of danger. The Collector, V. Mohanachandran, rushed to the hospital and enquired about the health of the students, sources added.
