
Over 135 residents from Assam, along with their families, have been invited to attend the 76th Republic Day Parade at Kartavya Path, New Delhi, on January 26, 2025.
This year, around 10,000 invitees from across the country have been selected, honoring individuals who have excelled in various fields and those who have benefited from significant government initiatives. The invitees from Assam include farmers, women entrepreneurs, foresters, and youth, representing a wide spectrum of contributions to society.
Notable guests from Assam include Niresh Chandra Barman, a farmer from Salkocha, Dhubri; Reena Daimary, an entrepreneur from Goalpara with a piggery and cake-making business; and Raju Uraon, a Forester Grade-I from the Kaziranga Eastern Assam Wildlife Division.
Other distinguished invitees include Sabita Terongpi, a beneficiary of the Lakhpati Didi Scheme from Biswanath, and Pramod Saikia from Mangaldoi, a recipient of the PM Surya Ghar Scheme. These invitees showcase the diversity and achievements of Assam’s people, underscoring the state’s inclusive development.
